Therapy for Young Adults
Online & in person in new york
Have you been feeling an enormous amount of stress and pressure as you move into the next stages of your life?
Maybe your college work has become overwhelming, or meeting others’ expectations about your career is just unbearable. You may be experiencing your first meaningful romantic relationship, or perhaps you noticed that any relationship around you, whether they are friendships, familial or professional, have become tougher to navigate and mind-boggling. Perhaps you’re feeling stuck and confused.
You’re struggling to find yourself and find some direction, and this is showing in other areas of your life:
Having difficulties staying focused and productive at school or work
Avoiding to talk to others
Experiencing increased anxiety
Being unable to sleep or rest
Questioning yourself and your decisions
Reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness or failure!
My approach to working with young adults
Therapy for young adults can give you the space and support to explore your thoughts and feelings, get unstuck, create more meaningful relationships with yourself and others, and transform into a more confident, authentic and vibrant version of yourself.
I will encourage you to show up authentically in therapy and I am committed to doing the same. I view our work together as a transformative collaboration. We’ll work on making space for your feelings & values, helping recognize & change unhelpful patterns, identifying your strengths, learning to accept and be kinder toward yourself, setting boundaries in your relationships with confidence, and experiencing the kind of healing that spills over into all the areas of your life.
My approach to working with young adults comes from a place of hope and celebration toward your self-discovery: You are truly amazing and have great potential, and I cannot wait for you to discover that!

Common questions about therapy for Young Adults
-
We will meet weekly for 45 minutes via a 100% private, HIPAA-compliant video platform. Our first few sessions will be all about getting to know one another, understanding the challenges you’re facing, and making sure you feel comfortable. From there, we will develop your own roadmap toward meeting your goals, but sessions aren’t overly structured; if you encountered something specific that week, we’ll unpack it together.

My goal is always for my clients to leave therapy feeling confident in their own skills and abilities. The time it takes to accomplish this varies from person to person. We will consistently check in about your goals and collaborate on the next steps to take in your treatment. This is your unique journey and I am here to listen to you. Additionally, with respect to your time and planning ahead, the discharge process starts well in advance of the last session so it is not rushed.

Yes! Studies have shown that teletherapy has the same results as in-person treatment for depression and anxiety (see useful article here). One great advantage that most of my clients have shared, is the flexibility that online therapy provides; you can meet with me where you are most comfortable, and never have to worry about sitting in an awkward waiting room, disrupting your work schedule, or commuting to and from sessions.
