FAQS

Questions about what it’s like to work together?

Here are some of the most common questions I get from clients about therapy. If you don’t see your question answered below, contact me.

  • My sessions are client-centered and collaborative, meaning that you get to decide what we work on together and we go at your pace. I use an integrative approach to treating trauma, which includes resilience-based therapy, compassion focused therapy, trauma sensitive mindfulness, culturally sensitive therapy.

  • This is based on your own journey. I typically see you once a week at first, this allows for therapy to move along at a good pace. We can discuss this together and make a plan that fits for you, because your needs come first.

  • Therapy is an investment of your time, energy, and finances. My full fee for 50 minutes sessions is $200. I am fully invested in your session through advance preparation related to your plan of care and ongoing training related to my specialties.

I do collect fees at the end of each session. I do not carry a balance for clients.

  • I believe that therapy should be accessible to everyone; for this reason, I reserve a number of reduced fee spots (based on financial hardship). Please contact me to discuss further.

  • I am in-network for Blue Cross, Aetna and Cigna, Oxford Health, Oscar and United Healthcare, but I can also provide a superbill for my out-of-network clients and help with reimbursement. Please reach out with any questions, I'm happy to work with you to keep therapy affordable.

  • A variety of morning, afternoon and evening hours are available for sessions, weekdays only. We’ll work together on our initial phone call to find times that work for your schedule.

  • You can cancel or reschedule a session anytime, as long as you provide 24 hours notice. If you cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice, or fail to show up, you will be charged the full session fee.

  • Yes, I see clients in person on the Upper East Side.

  • Online therapy offers the help you need, wherever you are. Online therapy is flexible, made to fit you and your life: whether you’re a teen or young adult who would prefer to do therapy from the comfort of your own home. Perhaps you’re a busy parent balancing time for yourself - I offer flexible and accessible therapy through a secure and HIPPA-compliant online system. Sessions are offered from a private & secure video platform on your phone or computer.

Online therapy is not appropriate for those in crisis. If you are experiencing thoughts of harming yourself or others, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
